Jef Lynch, Owner, HotRod Genius
Jef began his career as a sheet metal worker, then iron worker. He was recruited by a big Chevrolet dealer in the Boston area as a line tech, then was offered a position by General Motors Corporation where his real education began.
Jef spent 26 years total with GM Field Division, 3 years with Chevrolet Motor Division as a field trainer and service representative, 15 years with Service Engineering for Oldsmobile and Saturn, and 8 years with the GM School of Product Service in between the Olds and Saturn experience.
Jef is an author of books on fuel injection, ignition systems and scanner usage, as well as of handbooks on automotive electricity and electronics, emissions, IM240, exhaust gas analysis, Digital Storage Oscilloscope usage (Tektronix products), waveform patterns and descriptions for different manufacturers such as UEI, OTC. Jef worked closely with Tektronix to bring scope usage to the auto tech world.
As a sideline, Jef consulted with Century Manufacturing on welding machines, battery chargers, and plasma torches.
He has been involved with the performance end of the auto industry ever since he got a license. Jef has had several race cars, lots of street cars, and now he operates a full service performance shop in Townsend, MA. Jef also provides training and consulting for the performance aftermarket.
