To determine carburetor size simply take the cubic inch displacement of your engine and multiply that times the highest rpm you will be taking the engine to. Take that number and divide it by 3,456 and that’s the biggest carb you should run, at least on the street. If you have a fairly mild engine and not much for rear gear then multiply the answer you got by .85 and that will give you a size that should really work well for you. For racing applications this equation really doesn’t work. More powerful engines need bigger carburetors or throttle bodies if you are running fuel injection.
