This handbook is currently under construction.
With companies competing so fiercely for business it has become possible for we hot rodders to be able to afford some really nice parts for our rides. But there are still times when you may want to change a differential or a ring and pinion set, and you should get some instruction on how to do it and make the proper adjustments. After reviewing the Differential Handbook you will be able to make the determination as to whether or not you have the experience (or tools) to attempt a gear change. It will also give you the information you need to know whether the guy that you hire to do it for you has the experience and the tools. There are a lot of people out there setting up gear sets that aren’t doing it correctly. So the information in this handbook should at least enable you to know what it takes to set a rear end up, and how to make sure the set up is correct before you run your hot rod down the road and ruin those new gears.
We will also review some of the tools that different manufacturers now have to help make the gear set up a one shot deal. You will be surprised to see how little the tools that are available now cost compared to what they cost years ago.
